Interactions with Founders – Asheesh Gupta, Samarth

Ishani and I met with my dost, Asheesh Gupta, founder of Samarth, at DLF Golf Club a few days ago. We had been planning to meet Asheesh for long, and finally, we could meet last week.

Asheesh is a wonderful human being. As they say, friendships are built on shared values, and it’s such a joy when you see your dost find his true calling.

Asheesh Gupta has been my dost for over 25 years. He started his journey as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, then joined our team at Hero Mindmine in 2000. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, he has worn many hats, strategist, leader, mentor, business builder, but I believe he has truly found his mojo at Samarth.

Asheesh shared his journey at Samarth. The seeds of Samarth were sown back in 2016 when Asheesh, along with his co-founder Anuradha Das Mathur, began ideating on how to bring dignity, support, and community to India’s elderly. By 2018, the vision had taken shape, and since then, there’s been no looking back.

Today, Samarth is a national platform focused on enabling elders and their families to age well, offering trusted services, care, and connection across India. It fills a growing gap in our society with a blend of empathy, innovation, and strong execution.

Whenever I meet Asheesh, I see pride in his eyes. Not the kind that shouts, but the kind that shines. He is so full of energy, passion, and clarity that it’s impossible not to feel inspired. Samarth isn’t just a company for him, it’s his purpose, his gift to society, and his way of giving back with love.

As a DilSeDost, it fills me with joy to watch him build something so meaningful.

More strength to you, Asheesh, and more power to the entire Team Samarth. Our elders and our nation deserve this kind of care.
