Today, while I was waiting to meet my dost Sushil Singh at the DLF Golf Club, I experienced one such moment. My dear dost Lloyd Mathias—angel investor, business strategist, and one of the finest marketing minds—walked up to me with a warm smile, holding a copy of my book Dil Se Dost.
He said softly, “Every time I come here, I carry this book hoping to get it signed by you someday.”
That simple gesture touched me deeply. I was almost in tears as I hugged him, grateful for the affection and humility behind it.
Lloyd and I first met five years ago during my Sarcha Advisors journey through a common angel investment. Since then, every conversation with him has reflected positivity, clarity, and generosity of spirit.
With leadership stints at PepsiCo, Motorola Solutions, Tata, and HP, and now mentoring founders across AI, consumer internet, and digital technology, Lloyd continues to blend intellect with warmth—a true Dil Se Dost.
He also writes regularly for leading newspapers and often shares his perspectives on television. His depth and breadth across subjects, from business strategy to public policy, never cease to amaze me.
What made the day even more special was his gracious commitment to do a podcast with me soon—a conversation I’m truly looking forward to, as we explore the power of friendship, values, and purpose in our journeys.
🙏 Thank you, Lloyd, for your affection, humility, and friendship. You made my day truly special.
