Interactions with Founders – Utkarsh Singh and Vikrant Singh, BatX Energies
I had an insightful philosophical and strategic session with my founder dosts, Utkarsh Singh 🇮🇳 and Vikrant Singh of BatX Energies.
Our freewheeling discussions on short-term goals led to key takeaways some of which are as follows:
Non Dilutive Cash Flow
Ensure there is enough focus on securing non-dilutive funding to support company growth without equity dilution. More with less could be one of the mantras, outsourcing and variablizing , revenue streams for intangibles, grant , debt for working capital and capex investments and extended credit, focus on core, monetization of intangibles etc.
Framework of collaboration and partnerships to create dil-se connect and win-win
Biology: Alignment of DNA and values
Chemistry: Understand from Ecosystem about the credentials of potential partners
Physics: Develop the ability to ask the right questions , Voice of Customer , business model , value proposition etc.
Maths : Agree on the economics, commercials and their impact . Think win-win
Authority to Fail
Promote intrapreneurship by giving team members the authority to fail.
Gen AI
Explore company-wide deployment of Generative AI.
Rolling Runway
Develop strategies to ensure a rolling runway of at least 12 months.
Fundraising and Investors
Build a realistic cash flow with contingencies
Align business plan expectations with investors and maintain frequent communication, sharing both good and bad news with investors
Focus on value creation rather than valuation
Founder Appraisal
While founders often appraise their teams, they should also be open to their own appraisal.
Self-appraisal is valuable, but a formal structure with a mentor or coach can be more impactful.
Blessings and best wishes as Vikrant and Utkarsh build a great company driven by values and purpose.
