Some Notes from a Room Where AI Was the Main Character

Share :

I recently attended the AI Literacy Bootcamp by AI & Beyond, hosted by House of Tej. The session explored how AI is reshaping work and decision-making at both individual and institutional levels.

A few reflections have stayed with me:

  1. AI is not just another technology
Its role goes far beyond improving productivity. AI is beginning to influence economies, policy frameworks, and even how we define intelligence. One comment stood out: “Intelligence will become free.”
It is an idea that is both compelling and worth deeper thought.
  2. We are not losing jobs. We are redefining them.
Generative AI may displace certain roles, but it will also create new ones and enhance others. Microsoft’s 2023 Work Trend Index notes that only 40% of employee time is spent on truly creative work. AI can help increase that share meaningfully. “AI won’t take your job. A person using AI will.”
  3. Prompts are the new problem statements
The quality of output from AI depends on the clarity of input—context, structure, and questions. This is true across fields, whether you’re an investor, founder, or creator.
How we frame problems and communicate expectations will matter even more, with both people and machines.

A few other ideas that stood out:

  • English is becoming a default interface, like a new coding language.
  • AI literacy is becoming a baseline skill, much like spreadsheets once were.
  • Even voice-based AI benefits from priming; phrases like “Are you ready?” may become standard user inputs.

These developments raise important questions about how we learn, adapt, and work alongside these technologies.
