All CXOs and Founders to be Clones of each other – Thoughts for Founders and Owners

I was interacting with the CTO of one of my 30 portfolios of StartUps.

Here is a summary of key Takeaways on building a collaborative approach to deliver great outcomes

1. All CXOs must think like the CEO of their respective functions.

2. Each of the CXOs must think like a product/ service provider to the other CXO who should be treated like their customer.

3. Each CXO must take off their shoes and step into the shoes of the CEO to empathize at a high level with his/her priorities, purpose, and expectations of different stakeholders from the company including customers, team members, investors, society, etc.  Similarly, the CEO also needs to empathize with his CXOs. Eventually, the same format can be rolled out across the organization.

This approach will help bring in a culture of ownership, trust, transparency, empathy, and respect which are at the core of collaboration and partnership to deliver exponential outcomes.
