Importance of Power of Listening and Life Long Learner – Some thoughts

Share :

I have been reflecting on the relationship between Listener and Lifelong learner and its linkage to becoming a successful leader who is loved and admired in the current environment.

Here are some of my high-level thoughts based on my understanding of spirituality, consciousness,  and life’s learnings:

We don’t tend to listen with an open mind, either we are using filters of our beliefs and experiences of the past, or we like to believe “We Know it All” , or we don’t engage. This leads to selective listening, and we are unable to absorb what is shared. In this dynamic world, it is important to be open to change our views and beliefs other than some eternal truths.

When we listen to different perspectives and it is not in line with our thinking, we tend to sit on the seat of judgment, further moving us away from the current reality. While we may not be aligned with the views, but respecting the diversity of views, can help us in evaluating trade-offs.

We have to be a student during our entire Journey of Life, I have recently launched lifelong (version 2.0) as a 21-year-old and a student of digital technology, philosophy, and psychology, despite 36 years of professional experience. When I spend my time with Founders of Startups even while the founders are much younger than me but I listen to their ideas and thoughts as a mentee.

In this environment where the rate of change is itself accelerating,  listening with an open mind, without using filters of our own beliefs, and not being judgemental will help us stay calm happy and lead with a higher purpose, this will also help us to live in Harmony and in the now.
