My journey with Startups

Share :

My journey started a couple of years ago. It has been an amazing experience having met over 75 company founders, I have made 6 investments with 4 in the pipeline. Most of the meetings have been driven to learn as a 21-year-old and only a few meetings have been investment driven.

As a process, I spend a few hours with founders and follow the dilse investing. I don’t remember having seen a spreadsheet before investing. The investment decision is driven based on Bio/Chem with Founders. I am sector agnostic but prefer ideas that connect to the heart and not just IRR driven.

During my meetings, I share my life experiences, learnings & provide certain frameworks to the founders to take decisions and make tradeoffs.

I recognize my role is of a facilitator and learner, therefore I never force my views on them.

The range of topics I discussed is as under:

1. Size of opportunity, ability to compete, risks & synergies
2. Scale & capability building
3. Power of Ecosystem
4. Choice of Partner Biz or Finacial
5. Discipline, Prioritisation, Focus, and Power of Samepage
6. Importance of Values & Purpose
7. Value Creation Vs Dilution

It’s been a wonderful journey so far, as I learn new ideas, trends and also read and watch videos to stay current.
