I met Tanuj exactly 3 weeks ago in his office in a small conference room.
I was able to feel great optimism in his energy and his belief in his dreams. Coincidentally I met with a common friend Vihaan Kumar who thought very highly of Tanuj and his comment was that Tanuj is amongst the few guys who spend a lot of time in air travel going places, given his spread of business.
Based on my DilSe connect I am not surprised that Tanuj has been able to raise USD 20 Million from some Marquee Investors. I knew on the day I met with Tanuj that he has some uniqueness and spark in him which will help him create SquareYards to be a great Institution.
A couple of things that were interesting and stand out:
a. His energy, passion and untiring effort.
b. He committed a significant amount of his wealth to validate the proof of concept before going out to raise any money.
c. His ability to nurture and build a team of his Clones, who are as motivated as him and some of whom may even be more knowledgable in their respective fields. These senior team members then create a culture which percolates down in the organization.
d. Clarity of thought, focus, discipline, and process orientation.
e. Being able to think strategically and a ground level.
f. He clearly understands the power of the Ecosystem.
I wish him and his team a great success in creating a world-class organization.
